Our flock of Dorpers are imported from Oregon from Jess Willard. We have raised several breeds of sheep, and so far, the Dorpers are best suited for the Hawaiian climate. They are a type of hair sheep which means that they do not have wool, or if they do have a little, it usually sheds off in the summer, and you do not have to shear them. Bred for meat, Dorper lambs grow quickly to market weight. They also have excellent dispositions and are much calmer than other breeds making them good for herding dog training and for pets. They are distinctively marked with white bodies and black heads.
Sheep are excellent land clearers and make great lawnmowers if you have a large yard or lot with weeds and grass.
Purebred Dorper lambs are $300. Crossbred lambs $150.
